Samsung recently held its Developer Day event in South Korea and unveiled its plans for the fledgling Bada OS. Samsung has hinted that the new version of the OS will be highly web-centric. New apps will make use of web technologies. A new SDK will accompany it to help develop apps for the Samsung branded OS. The SDK will support Mac and Linux as well. Multitasking and NFC capabilities will play a very important role in the new OS.

  • A new SDK for developers which should run on both Windows and Linux

  • Multitasking

  • Improved User Interface

  • Advertisement gateway and operator billing support for applications

  • Third party Social Network integration

  • Better support for apps that use web technologies

  • NFC capabilities (which the Samsung Nexus S already sports), though applications which use this are not yet available on the mobile platform.

  • It is not yet clear if and when the older Bada devices like the Wave will get this update. We'll keep you updated about it !
