T-Mobile G2 , the latest Android based smartphone on the T-Mobile network is reportedly affected with severe hardware issues. The successor to the highly popular G1 supposedly has a loose hinge problem which causes the slider to dislocate when held at a particular angle. The problem is particularly noticeable when the device is held upside down which causes the screen to hang down. The problem can evidently be fixed by tightening the springs.
Another problem which is more serious however is that some of the models being sold have half the inbuilt memory than advertised. The TMobile G2 was advertised to have 4GB of inbuilt memory but some of the smartphone which have reached the customers contain 2GB of memory. This is interesting as the Desire Z which is basically the same phone but being sold unlocked , comes with 2GB of inbuilt memory. We are still waiting to hear from T-Mobile whether they plan to issue to issue a recall or provide customers with a larger memory card.
