Google, the company behind the development of the extremely popular open source mobile operating system , Android , has decided to stop selling its flagship device. The Nexus One , which was manufactured by HTC was chiefly sold by Google through its online webstore. The company has now decided to stop selling it online and will push it through retail channels.

Now, the company has received the last shipment of this device. On completion of the shipment, the handset will no longer be available through Google. However, the Nexus One will be sold through partners like Vodafone in Europe, KT in Korea and seemingly other retailers based on the condition of the local market.

Although, customer support for the existing Nexus One consumers will be available. This Android handset supports the Android 2.2 Froyo, which has supposedly attracted several Android loyalists.

Other than Google, the handset was available through T-Mobile and AT&T. The device sports a 3.7” OLED display and supports 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The phone also boasts of a 1400mAh battery which allows talktime up to 10 hours and standby time of up to 290 hours on 2G.

Registered developers will however still be able to purchase the device by logging into the Android Marketplace.
