Review : Beta Brainwavz M2

Sometime back I had reviewed a entry level IEM called Beta Brainwavz Pro from Mp4 nation's in-house brand Brainwavz.Recently MP4 came up with a new mid-segment IEM called the Brainwavz M2 .Unlike the Betas the M2 are targeted more towards the mid-segment buyers ,with a price tag of ~69$. I was fortunate enough to get a chance to review the M2s before the launch and I was really surprised with the sound these IEMs could produce out of the box without much burn-in.

SE Xperia X10 Now Available In India

SE Xperia which was codenamed as the Shakira , is now available in India. The Android powered smartphone is priced at Rs. 13,900 in India. The Xperia X8 looks like the X10 mini but it has a larger 3″ capacitive scratch resistant touchscreen. The smartphone runs Android 1.6 on a 600Mhz processor. The battery is 1200mAh. The phone comes with integrated Timescape and allows has 128MB of RAM. The memory card slot supports memory cards upto 16GB in size.

T Mobile G2 Facing Hardware Problems

T-Mobile G2 , the latest Android based smartphone on the T-Mobile network is reportedly affected with severe hardware issues. The successor to the highly popular G1 supposedly has a loose hinge problem which causes the slider to dislocate when held at a particular angle. The problem is particularly noticeable when the device is held upside down which causes the screen to hang down. The problem can evidently be fixed by tightening the springs.

LG Optimus 2X Launched !

Amidst several leaks and previews, not much was left unknown of the LG Optimus 2X. The phone was officially shown off yesterday at CES during the Nvidia keynote. The phone was referred to as a 'superphone' due to the presence of the Tegra 2 chipset. The chipset enables the Optimus 2X to encode and decode 1080p video. Being a dual core chipset , it essentially gives smartphone users almost 2Ghz worth of performance ie 1Ghz on each core.



The Optimus 2X comes with a WVGA 4" display which is said to be exceptionally bright. The 8MP camera is capable of capturing 1080p video which can then be played back on your HDTV via the included HDMI port. Internal memory is 8GB and is further expandable by another 32GB via the memory card slot. The operating on the system is Android 2.2 ie Froyo with an LG designed UI layer in top. The LG Optimus 2X will be available in Korea within a few weeks with a global launch planned soon after.

LG Launches A155 , A120 Budget Phones

LG today launched two new budget handsets in the market with an aim to capture a segment of the low end market.



The LG A155 is a dual SIM device with Bluetooth , microSD card support , FM Radio and a 2 inch screen. The design is highly influenced by the Nokia 6300 and it will be sold in India and Russia at a price tag of roughly $100 (Rs 4500)



The LG A120 is unlike the A155 , a single SIM phone. The USP here is the dual speaker , flashlight and FM Radio. The phone sports a 1.77 inch screen. The cost of the phone is about $55 ie under Rs 2500.

The LG Apex is a mid range Android device heading towards US Cellular this week. Armed with a 3.2 MP Camera unit , 3.2" display , Android 2.1 , the QWERTY enabled device is aimed squarely at the low-mid range market. It has been priced competitively at $80.

LG Optimus Released In India

One of the most popular LG models in recent times , the Optimus One has finally seen release in India. Selling over 1 million units across the world so far, the Optimus One is based on Android 2.2 (Froyo). The Optimus One runs the operating system on a 600 Mhz processor. The screen is small at 3.2" with HVGA resolution while the camera is 3MP with no flash. The Android on the LG smartphone has been skinned with a custom UI. The phone has been priced at about Rs 13,500.

Versace Bringing Rs. 4.5 Lakh Phone To India

Ultra luxury brand Versace is planning to bring its first cellphone to India. The Versace Unique Ceramic phone has been priced at a staggering Rs. 4.5 lakhs. The phone has a pure ceramic frame with the option of 18k gold or 316L stainless steel frame. The rear end of the device is made of crocodile leather. A sapphire crystal touchscreen ensures that it remains scratch free. The 3G enabled phone has a 5MP camera. The phone circuitry is provided by LG.

LG To Make Optimus Related Announcement In India

LG plans to make an announcement regarding their Optimus series of smartphones in India on the 18th of November. It is expected that the announcement will have something to do with the Optimus One which is an Android device. LG has worked closely with Google to bring a perfect Froyo (Android 2.2) experience. The Optimus One is powered by a 600MHz processor. There is a 1500 mAh battery to deliver great battery life with the 3.2" WVGA touchscreen display. The phone is expected to be priced at Rs. 13,000.

Leaked LG Star Has Dual Core Tegra , 1080p Recording !

Well  it wasn't long ago when the first 1GHz processor enabled phones started appearing and now Engadget seems to have the details on an upcoming Android super phone by LG. Called the LG Star internally , it is the first phone in the market to come with a dual core Tegra 2 processor which should give it phenomenal processing power. That coupled with an 8MP camera capable of recording video in 1080p will make this is a multimedia beast to be reckoned with . The smartphone is supposed to come with a nearly untouched build of Android on it.

LG Optimus One Headed To T-Mobile , Will Allow WiFi Calls !

T-Mobile is about to get yet another Android 2.2 ie Froyo based device. The LG Optimus One has fairly average specifications behind a 3.2" capacitive touchscreen display. Where the device truly stands out is that this might be the first handset to support the UMA standard which allow you to make free phone calls over your WiFi network. Along with it , the smartphone will also let you share its 7.2Mbps HSDPA connection with your laptop.

LG T325 Touchscreen Phone Shows Up

Bluetooth SIG has outed an unassuming LG phone, the T325. This looks like it’s a featurephone and definitely packs a touchscreen of unknown size (yet it appears to be somewhere in the 2.8″-3.2″ range). It also has 3G and Bluetooth. It will be launching in Europe at some point in August and may very well be the newest member of LG’s Cookie rangeof low-end touchscreen featurephones.
